World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous attack damage every time it is upgraded.
Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon an update.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.
In the final game, you will often find that the best way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Utilizing a Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrade a piece of equipment the original item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can increase in price even if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can waste lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The upgrader for items allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and armor) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every when you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its original condition which means that the player has to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If gear improvement is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items might require different upgrades than standard gear. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
